Sexual Assault Awareness Month – April 2017

Allison Bishop is the SAAM Programming Intern for SARA during J-Term 2017.  She is a first-year student at Hollins University, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies.  Her career aspirations are to eventually work within the Division of Violence Prevention at the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, combating sexual and domestic violence, intimate partner violence, teen dating violence, and suicide.
For the month of January she will be working with SARA to program and create a campaign for Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April. SARA has never hosted a large scale SAAM before and we are excited to get this new programming off the ground. Through Allison’s efforts we hope to raise awareness of the issue of sexual violence in our community and engage new champions of our cause. By doing this, more clients will know who we are, what we do, and that we are here for all survivors.

“I look forward to working with SARA and am excited to begin my journey as their intern.” – Allison Bishop
