Volunteer
Volunteering is a gift of time, energy, and heart. SARA knows and understands the value of these attributes in a volunteer and does not take them for granted. There is more than one way to be involved with our mission and volunteering is one of those ways. Whether you are looking to gain new skills, meet new friends, or dedicate a little bit of time when you can, we will do our best to find an opportunity that works for you.

Crisis Advocates
Crisis Advocates offer support, information, and assistance to survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones through our 24-hour crisis hotline. Through this opportunity, you’ll learn a valuable set of skills to give back.

Other Opportunities
We often need volunteers for one-time events such as fundraisers, workshops, and informational tabling. If you don’t have the time to be a Volunteer Crisis Advocate, but still want to be involved, we encourage you to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media to be notified of volunteer needs as they arise.
When I first volunteered I was brand new to Roanoke, looking for ways to get involved in the community and meet people. I am so lucky to have found this group of sensitive, outspoken individuals who never stop showing up for people who are in pain. I’ve learned and grown so much personally from my time with SARA, and I’m so thankful for the time that Laura invests in her volunteers.
