Crisis Advocates

Become a Crisis Advocate

Our May 2020 Volunteer Crisis Advocate Training has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 stay at home order by Governor Northam. We will provide updated information on training as we are able. In the meantime, we are still accepting applications (see below) and are happy to discuss the program further with you (email lguilliams@sararoanoke.org for more information)!

About Our Crisis Advocates

Our Crisis Advocates provide 24-hour crisis response through SARA’s crisis hotline as well as respond to emergency requests for in-person advocacy at local hospitals and law enforcement agencies. SARA volunteers are a crucial part of our ability to respond to survivors and their loved ones in moments of need, providing crisis intervention, support, advocacy, emergency assistance, and information and referrals.
