Internship
SARA Roanoke offers internship opportunities in the areas of crisis advocacy and criminal justice advocacy. Interns are required to complete our Crisis Advocacy Training and support our Volunteer Crisis Advocate Program. Crisis Advocates provide 24-hour crisis response through SARA’s crisis hotline as well as respond to emergency requests for in-person advocacy at local hospitals and law enforcement agencies.
Please note that we do not currently provide clinical internships and cannot guarantee a specific number of direct service hours at this time. This internship requires a one-year (or two-semester) commitment and project assignments are an option to fulfill internship requirements.
To inquire about an internship with SARA, please contact Director of Crisis Services Graham Daniels by calling 540-345-7273 or email: gdaniels@sararoanoke.org.
