SARA Roanokeis looking for a qualified, experienced, compassionate and empathetic individual with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team to provide trauma-informed counseling and crisis intervention services to survivors of sexual violence.

 The Director of Clinical Services is a full-time position to provide direct services to victims of sexual violence in the form of crisis intervention, hotline coverage, advocacy, group support and individual therapy.  SARA is a private, not-for-profit organization and is the sexual assault crisis center for the Roanoke Valley. SARA provides 24-hour crisis intervention, emotional support, and advocacy to victims as they negotiate the medical and legal systems after experiencing the trauma of sexual violence. SARA provides free, voluntary, and confidential on-going counseling as victims rebuild and move forward with their lives.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in human services; demonstrated experience in crisis intervention techniques and methods; demonstrated experience in mental health therapy techniques and methods; demonstrated knowledge of issues specific to sexual violence and working with victims of sexual violence; demonstrated knowledge of trauma focused and trauma informed care; and, excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and boundaries. Professional counseling licensure or licensed eligible preferred but not required.
